Multitechnical Maintenance

What are the 4 types of maintenance?

The four main types of maintenance are: preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, condition-based maintenance and predictive maintenance. These approaches aim to ensure the availability, reliability and safety of equipment, while optimizing costs and resources.
Corrective maintenance: This is carried out after a breakdown or malfunction has occurred. The aim is to repair or replace defective components to restore normal operation of the equipment.
Preventive maintenance: This strategy involves carrying out planned interventions to prevent breakdowns before they occur. It is divided into two sub-categories:
Systematic maintenance: Actions are carried out according to a fixed schedule or after a set number of usage units, regardless of the actual condition of the equipment.
Conditional maintenance: Interventions are based on the actual condition of the equipment, measured by indicators such as temperature, vibration or wear, enabling action to be taken only when necessary.
